1. Hire a planner - This is an asset, you will need someone to attend appointments, recommend top local vendors and who knows the area
2. Find Reputable Vendors - You want to be sure there are no mishaps on the wedding day, ask for references!!
3. Visit Your Location - This is so important, try to have all your vendors available to meet you upon your visit to discuss the location of items and the details. This will make the whole planning process easier once you have done a "Site Tour" or "Walk Through"
4. Go Online - Use the Internet as you planning tool. You can create wedding websites, maps for your guests and research ideas and vendors.
5. Never Pay With Cash - Pay with cheque or credit card, this will always give you a record of transaction and if it's an overseas wedding you will get the best exchange rate.
6. Be Specific - Send photos, magazine clippings or links to website to all of your service providers, you need to ensure they will reflect your theme, style and visions.
7. Get There Early - Arrive to your wedding location at least one week in advance, this will give you time to finalize details with the florist, caterer, family and bridal party.
